The NorthWest Initiative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organizationworking to strengthen and sustain healthy communities inLansing's 'grand neighborhoods' - the City area bounded bythe Grand River on the north, east, and south.Program partners include residents, neighborhoodorganizations, local nonprofit organizations, human serviceagencies, Experience Works Program, and departments ofMichigan State University, Lansing Community College, and Spring Arbor University.
Through community engagement and mobilization, NWI advances the development of healthy, vibrant communities by building capacity to identify needs and formulate strategies to create change.
