Intercultural Counseling Connection

The Intercultural Counseling Connection is a growing network of mental health professionals in Maryland, drawn from diverse agencies and areas of speciality, dedicated to providing culturally responsive counseling and therapeutic services for refugee individuals and families. Counseling services through the Connection network are provided on a pro bono basis, or under reimbursement through Medical Assistance (Medicaid). There is no cost to clients.

Participating professionals benefit from free opportunities for training, networking, and professional consultation/supervision on working therapeutically with refugees and survivors of conflict-related trauma and torture. The Connection also provides and covers the cost of trained interpreters for counseling sessions whenever needed.

The Connection initiative has been undertaken in collaboration with the Office of Immigrant Health, Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene; the Maryland Office for Refugees and Asylees; the International Rescue Committee-Baltimore; Asylee Women Enterprise; the Episcopal Refugee and Immigrant Center Alliance; and Cross-Cultural Communications.

Fusion Partnerships is the nonprofit (501(c)3) fiscal sponsor for the Intercultural Counseling Connection.
