Pink Aid

Pink Aid’s mission is to help underserved local women survive breast cancer treatment with support and dignity, to provide screening to women in financial need, and to empower breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others. Founded in 2011, Pink Aid is a 501(c)3 organization based in Westport, CT and serves Connecticut statewide. In 2013, a second chapter in Huntington, NY was established and serves the Long Island area.

In its eighth year, Pink Aid's primary source of funds raised is from their Annual October Fashion Show and Luncheon Event held each year at Mitchells of Westport store. In addition, the Long Island chapter also holds their own luncheon and fashion show at Mitchells of Huntington store. Each October, six hundred guests gather for a catered luncheon, hear a dynamic guest speaker, watch a runway designer fashion show, participate in both a silent and exciting live auction, and cheer on a moving yet heartfelt "Warrior Fashion Show" where models are breast cancer survivors. Both luncheon events comprise of 90% of Pink Aid's annual fundraising efforts and are chaired and staffed by volunteers. During the year, Pink Aid will also host one other smaller community fundraising event and is very fortunate to be the ongoing beneficiary of donations received from corporate sponsorships, individual donors, third party events, foundations, and online crowd funding tributes.

To date, Pink Aid CT has awarded $3.6 million dollars to 22 organizations. All chosen grantees that are awarded funds align with and carry out our mission and fund their own hospital based programs and grass-root organization initiatives. Those grants help pay for screening, diagnostic testing, household expenses (ex. rent, utilities), food cards, education, outreach, and wellness and recovery. We also provide individual emergency assistance for patients in treatment, that are financially burdened and apply directly through our Pink Purse Program.

Pink Aid's tagline and main objective is to deliver "compassion until there's a cure" .
