Pink Aid’s mission is to help underserved local women survive breast cancer treatment with support and dignity, to provide screening to women in financial need, and to empower breast cancer survivors to heal by helping and inspiring others.
Founded in 2011, Pink Aid is a 501(c)3 organization based in Westport CT with operations serving the state of Connecticut and in 2013, a second chapter was established in Huntington, NY serving Long Island. This position requires involvement and oversight of both chapters.
Pink Aid raises funds annually primarily from a fashion show and luncheon held in the month of October at the Mitchells of Westport store as well as a separate event hosted at the Mitchells of Huntington store. The annual event is comprised of a fashion show presented by a well-known designer, a guest speaker, another very special fashion show where the models are breast cancer survivors all followed by a catered lunch. These events comprise approximately 90% of all annual fundraising efforts. The events are chaired and staffed by volunteers. In addition, to this significant event, Pink Aid hosts a few smaller community building events and fundraisers throughout the year.
