ARCO IRIS

  • Misión

Our Mission is to protect Our Sacred Mother Earth by conserving Ozark wilderness land, teaching environmental education, preserving indigenous and Ozark cultures, and providing a sanctuary that empowers women and children of color, displaced indigenous peoples, and our community with natural and healthy skills for sustainable living and self-sufficiency.

    Acerca de

    Who We Are

Arco Iris Earth Care Project was founded in 1987 by queer and Two-Spirit Women of Color. We steward the 400-acre Wild Magnolia Land Trust in the Ozarks, guided by Indigenous earth care principles. We offer a healing and safe space for our community to reconnect with nature.

    Our Vision for Wild Magnolia

This sacred land will be a sanctuary for native plants, wild animals, springs, creeks, caves, and people. It will be protected by our community as a land trust held in perpetuity. A resident gatekeeper will welcome well-intentioned visitors and uphold land guidelines. The land will be physically and spiritually cleansed and cared for by at least three resident caretakers or families.

Wild Magnolia will host eco-tours, Earth School, retreats, ceremonies, and a natural health clinic. It will be open to diverse residents and guests-LGBTQ people, elders, children, people of color, and those with disabilities-and will include a reserved women-only retreat area.

The land will remain connected with its founding neighbor, Santuario Arco Iris, through shared gardens, wildlife, and a suspension bridge. It will also be the home of Teopan Earth Care School, fostering sustainability for Wild Magnolia and our rural Ozark community.
