Brooklyn Preparatory High School, Brooklyn, New York

Brooklyn Prep is a small, public, college preparatory high school where academic rigor is accompanied by rigorous academic and affective support. It is a community where every student is known well and failure is not an option, where no student is allowed to fall through the cracks. It is a learning organization where both young people and adults are actively engaged in inquiry, reflection, and collaboration. Its mission is to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge, skills and habits to succeed in a challenging college program and ultimately, to take on an extraordinary responsibility for our world.

In supporting our students’ movement towards mastery, we recognize that they come to us with a variety of strengths and needs. Our job is to continually measure and celebrate their progress as we lead them to increasingly challenging work.

We opened in the Fall of 2004 and are partners with the Institute for Student Achievement.
