Bethel New Life is a community development corporation dedicated to weaving a healthier, sustainable community on Chicago's West Side. From its beginnings in 1979 as a neighborhood church outreach focused on creating decent, afforable housing, Bethel has evolved into a comprehensive CDC with a national reputation for cutting edge initiatives and pioneering approaches. Living wage jobs are now Bethel's primary focus; other initiatives include new and rehab housing, family support services (day care, senior care, transitional living for homeless families), community organizing, economic development, and cultural and performing arts.
