Our vision is to see the transgender community and their allies unite together to help transgender and gender non-conforming members of our community receive the resources they need to recover from hardship, free from discrimination, harassment, or violence due to their gender identity or gender expression.
We currently have two main programs in operation. Our Emergency Assistance Program is board-led and comprised of a network of compassionate volunteers who are carefully selected and trained to help homeless transgender adults from all walks of life who suddenly find themselves without a home. This program helps provide our clients with transportation to temporary housing while we put them in touch with local services to help them get the resources they need to get them back on their feet.
Additionally, we’ve just launched a Food Exchange Program in collaboration with local grocery stores, restaurants, and private donations. The program provides food to current clients, those in need at the local transgender support meeting Gender Expression Movement (GEM), and to the pantries at Access AIDS, which helps adults, families, youth and children impacted by HIV/AIDS.
