CapoeiraDC

CapoeiraDC is a community-run nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering the Afro-Brazilian martial art of capoeira in the nation’s capital through classes, community outreach and access, and youth development. CapoeiraDC offers Capoeira Contemporânea, an intoxicating and fast-paced blend of self-defense, music and fluid movement. For nearly a decade CapoeiraDC has provided quality arts instruction and free community events in some of the city’s most underserved neighborhoods.

Under the tutelage of Mestre Curisco www.curisco.com of Capoeira Malês in Seattle, WA and the leadership of Instructor Morcego, CapoeiraDC has expanded to offer eight adult capoeira classes, two youth capoeira classes, and Samba and Afro-Brazilian dance and drumming classes to nearly 100 students. No matter your age, background, or skill level there is something for everyone at the Capoeira Spot!
