The mission of Fort Lauderdale Opera Works is to allow the Broward County audience to experience the beauty and grandeur of opera without the cost or pretentiousness frequently associated with “Grand Opera.” Through the balance of reimagined classics with forgotten gems, innovative use of technology, fostering of local talent, and thoughtful use of translations, the organization strives to adapt to the ever-changing art form and the ever-changing South Florida audience, thus establishing itself as part of the local artistic consciousness.
