LiftUp Communities

LiftUp Communities is a non-profit (501c3) organization based in Chicago that launched in 2021 to accelerate the stability and mobility of low wage workers, their families and social fabric. We work in tandem with LiftUp Enterprises, a separate for-profit social enterprise, and its operating companies, Do Right Services.

When workers are overwhelmed by financial stress and systemic barriers, they are consumed by survival rather than performance. LiftUp Communities intervenes with culturally relevant wraparound support. We serve employees of our partner operating company, and anyone in their social fabric (friends, family members, community). We begin with intensive case management and offer our clients proprietary workshops and services, in addition to leveraging services from trusted community organizations in Chicago. We help our clients navigate systems and specifically focus on financial wellness, food security, ESL & digbital literacy, building confidence/self-advocacy, and accessing healthcare and housing. By leveraging behavioral science, we work to stabilize immediate financial barriers to help prevent cascading financial trouble, putting our clients on a path to long-term stability.
