Harkness Institute

Harkness Institute in Nuevo Vallarta, Nayarit is an advanced High School that employs a conference study approach to learning, rather than just the traditional classroom setting. Accredited by the National Secretary of Education, it seeks the most driven and committed students from the area to prepare them for international college study. We are aware of the great need that Mexico has in the area of education and we are striving to fill this gap. Most of our students receive financial aid and we are constantly recruiting people who are willing to help us in this endeavor, either financially or by volunteering as guest speakers/mentors. At Harkness, we strive to help students develop a lifelong love of learning and mastery of learning skills. We are committed to developing their intellectual curiosity, improving their desire for excellence, and expanding their creativity in all their life's endeavors. Our mission is to provide educational opportunities that will shape the future leaders of Mexico.

The curriculum is demanding, but the atmosphere at the school is caring. Students and teachers develop close intellectual relationships. They respect each other's ideas. The atmosphere is one of cooperation and shared endeavor. Students learn because they trust their teachers´ understanding and they help each other learn.
