Supporting Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED-SL) is a non-profit and non-governmental organization formed in January 2009 to create economic partnerships with the poor. This is done through innovative assistance for entrepreneurship, including micro credit loans couple with skills training

SEED-SL is driven by the hope of a better world and inspired by the vision of a society where all people can live in justice, good health, peace and well-being. We believe that by our activities we can turn that hope into action and subsequently change things. Our intervention areas are micro-finance, livelihood support programs and HIV Aids prevention

OBJECTIVE, VISION, MISSION & STRATEGY

The objects of SEED Sierra Leone

• Create economic partnerships with the poor through innovative assistance for entrepreneurship, including micro credit loans couple with skills training

• To conscientize, educate, render help, assistance in any form and / or to implement any scheme for the welfare of community in terms of health, water and sanitation programme, projects including programme on eradication and prevention of AIDS etc.

• The promotion of a simultaneous personal development and social transformation. We believe that when we encourage the personal development of persons we can also be seen to transform their social capacities.

• To collaborate, associate, supplement and / or implement programme or projects of government, and non-government or any other like minded agencies or organizations in Sierra Leone.

Render help and assistance to the socio-economic and emotional upliftment of women, youth, the exploited classes and economically weaker sections of society without any discrimination of caste, class, religion or gender.

To mobilize the target group and strengthen them in a manner that they are able to address their developmental need by themselves.

CURRENT PROJECT OF SEED SIERRA LEONE

ADAKAVI Bank, the village bank for the poor! The way out of poverty for Sierra Leone is the current Microfinance project of SEED Sierra Leone which is economically empowering 300 petty traders and non petty traders clients mostly single household parents (mothers) with direct micro loans of around 50 Euros and simple business skills training in seven communities.
