The Latin American Integration Center (LAIC) is a non-profit community based organization founded in 1992 with the mission to strengthen Latin American immigrant communities in New York City by promoting the exercise and protection of human and civil rights. LAIC’s strngthens imigrant communities through education, leadership development, community organizing and grass-roots advocacy for responsible public policy, and services that improve the quality of life for immigrants and their families. Since its inception, LAIC has served as a vehicle for the empowerment of low-income families and individuals, and for the revitalization of low-income immigrant communities in Queens and Staten Island.

LAIC participates in strategic grassroots advocacy and community organizing campaigns on the following issues: access to quality health care for immigrant families, education reform to address immigrant students’ needs, civic and electoral participation of immigrant New Yorkers, and comprehensive immigration reform.
