  • Misión

VOICEcorps enriches lives by reading printed news and information to people who are blind, have low vision, or other conditions that prevent reading.

    Acerca de

Through VOICEcorps reading service, people with a print-disability can continue to access current, printed information from newspapers, magazines and books as if there were no disability. VOICEcorps enables eligible people to be informed citizens, enlightened voters and intelligent consumers.

Service is delivered in audio: over radio, the web, and on select cable systems. Volunteers read aloud at home from print news and information found on the web. Reading may be live or recorded on PC's. Recordings are then uploaded to Voicecorps and transmitted throughout our audio network. There are thousands of people using VOICEcorps today and some have been listeners for our entire 45-year history.

No one is charged a fee for service, nor for the use of special radios which can receive our private transmission. VOICEcorps receives support from the City of Columbus, the State of Ohio, corporate and foundation donors as well as thousands of individuals who want to make life a little easier for people who are blind, have low vision, or other disabling conditions which prevent them from using print.
