Austin Oxfam Action Corps

Austin Oxfam Action Corps is a part of the Oxfam America Action Corps - a group of dedicated volunteers working across the country to fight the effects of climate change on the world's poorest communities. The impacts of climate change around the world - from floods to droughts to disease - will disproportionately affect poor, vulnerable communities who are least responsible for creating the problem. We believe there is a human face to the climate change problem and we are a new constituency in the climate debate. We want to help spur strong action on climate change and underscore the critical importance of addressing peoples' needs in our climate response.

We organize volunteers to table at concerts, visit local politicians, collect petition signatures, and participate in nationally coordinated stunts to raise awareness on the important issues facing vulnerable communities.
