Arundel Community Development Services, Inc.

Arundel Community Development Services, Inc (ACDS) is a private, nonprofit corporation established in 1993 by Anne Arundel County, Maryland to create and retain affordable housing opportunities within the County and to ensure the efficient delivery of community development services to those most in need.

ACDS acts as Anne Arundel County's housing and community development agency. The Corporation administers federal, State and County dollars. Specifically, ACDS is under contract with the County to administer its federally funded Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, HOME Investment Partnerships Program, Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) Program, the Continuum of Care Program, and the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) Program. In addition, ACDS, on behalf of Anne Arundel County, administers the State housing rehabilitation programs and County funded housing and community development programs.

As a corporation, ACDS demonstrates careful fiscal management and an investment strategy to allow optimal use of its financial resources. Further, ACDS maintains high standards of conduct and accountability. The Corporation regularly undergoes program and financial monitoring by HUD, is subject to an annual review by its independent auditors and by the County. In addition to external review and assessment, ACDS monitors its own activities guided by a formal program of policies, procedures and requirements, with ongoing oversight from its Board of Directors.
