Founded in the early 1920s, GSAS is the oldest of BC’s seven graduate and professional schools. To date, there are approximately 1,100 students enrolled within GSAS, and twenty-five percent are international students.

Comprised of 16 departments, the Graduate School offers Doctoral and Master's degrees in the humanities, social and natural sciences. All of our Doctoral programs are fully funded and there are funding opportunities for some Master's programs.

The 425 faculty at GSAS are dedicated to the highest levels of teaching and research. It is the faculty who determine the admissions standards and the admission requirements for the various degree programs.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences is small enough to know you as a person, yet large enough to serve you and prepare you for a rewarding life and satisfying career.
