Education Design Lab

The Education Design Lab prototypes and implements new education models that better prepare students for lifelong learning and multiple careers. Our nonprofit mission is helping learning institutions and entrepreneurs innovate in a rapidly changing landscape while maintaining a keen focus on student success. As we expand the definition of "higher" education, we need to blend the best of traditional models with new models to serve adults throughout their work lives as their passions and the economy evolve.

The Lab offers Design Challenges, Facilitated Innovation, Workshops, and Advisory Services that explore and generate new education models through intense collaboration, prototyping, and practical sustainable implementation. After launching the Lab in fall 2013, we completed our initial design challenges with George Mason University, our founding design partner, in May 2014. The Lab works with universities, other learning institutions, employers, entrepreneurs, government agencies, and other nonprofits. With each engagement, students and student voices are always at the table to contribute, teach and learn.
