Friends of the Third World, Inc.

Friends was started by students & teachers in 1972 to address the root causes of poverty, We work for social change thru partnerships with cooperatives in 40 countries incl. the U.S. and thru educational and technical assistance projects esp. in areas of political and economic crisis. We are a voluntary membership group with local affiliates in 6 states and wholesale projects, provide organizing info and publish newsletters. We work for peace thru economic democracy. We are a grassroots group with no large grants or corporate sponsors. We work against child labor, for a clean environment, human rights and self-reliance.
