In January 2007, PlaNet Finance, an international non‐profit organization with the mission to alleviate
poverty through the development of microfinance, created PlaNet Finance Israel, an Israeli non‐profit
organisation headquartered in Yaffo.
PlaNet Finance Israel acts as a platform and facilitator for microfinance activities and players with the
goal to develop the Israeli microfinance sector through micro‐entrepreneurship among populations
living in under the poverty line who have no or limited access to banking services. PlaNet Finance Israel
helps bring together relevant players, along the legal, social and economic conditions to create a
successful local microfinance landscape.
