The idea for Youth Advocacy Africa (YAA) was born in 2018, inspired by the firsthand experiences of our founder, Antony Manyara, during his tenure as Chairman of the University of Nairobi Students Association (UNSA). Confronted with the daily struggles faced by students — including police brutality, lack of opportunities, and rising youth unemployment — Antony recognized the urgent need for youth-centered advocacy and action.
Driven by a shared vision for change, he joined forces with six passionate young graduates to establish Youth Advocacy Africa. The organization was officially registered as a non-governmental organization in Kenya in December 2020.
