Women Warriors' Healing Garden

Our mission is to provide research-informed peer support and mental health programming to Canadian veterans, who are also visible or invisible minorities, and who are living with anxiety, PTSD or other effects of trauma.

We offer a variety of therapeutic programs in clearly defined "safe spaces," including peer support, peer support training, community gardening and animal assisted therapy.

All programs are facilitated by volunteers and supported by funding from community and government partners. They are available at no cost to eligible Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) service members and CAF, and allied, veterans.

Who We Are

Women Warriors’ Healing Garden (WWHG) was founded in 2015 as a federally-registered Canadian not-for-profit corporation (#999247-2). We are headquartered at a hobby farm in Ottawa, Ontario .

Our Vision

WWHG understands that members of minority groups often feel marginalized, or even unsafe, in traditional programs designed for veterans.

WWHG's vision is to provide caring and professional community-based support for those who have selflessly served our country, but who do not fit the societal stereotype of a military veteran, including women, visible minorities, Indigenous people and those who identify as 2SLGBTQ+.
