    The Center for Refugee and Disaster Response (CRDR) at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health is an internationally recognized education and research center that promotes excellence in humanitarian and emergency disaster assistance and preparedness through training, research and field programs in the United States and around the world.

    CRDR is a unique, collaborative academic program conducted jointly by the Department of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. We collaborate with governmental, non-governmental and international organizations, as well as with other research institutions.

    We have been at the forefront of disaster and humanitarian assistance research and education. Our faculty and staff have recently responded directly to

    • The Iraq Mortality Study (2006)
    • The Pakistan/India Earthquake (2006)
    • Hurricanes Katrina and Rita (2005)
    • The Asian Tsunami (2004)
