Comfort Homesake is a 501(c)3 community based organization dedicated to promoting informed and compassionate CARE for individuals and their families facing life-threatening or chronic illness. The organization originated over a decade ago in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area in Oakland. The goal is to prepare families for end of life.
In 2016, Comfort Homesake started a volunteer program called No One Dies Alone (NODA), and trained over 50 volunteers to sit vigil with dying patients in the hospital that did not have family or friends in the area. The program was established at Highland Hospital (the largest campus in Alameda's Health System) and is looking to expand, and for more volunteers to share the gift of their presence.
