Texas Eating Disorders Association

  • Misión

Texas Eating Disorders Association is dedicated to the fight against eating disorders through education, support and advocacy.

    Acerca de

In 1999, Rick and Leslie McCall founded The Elisa Project in memory of their daughter, a vibrant 20-year old college student who suffered with the pain of an eating disorder and ultimately took her own life. She recorded her struggle in a personal journal and its publication has inspired many in our community to join The Elisa Project in helping to combat eating disorders. The McCall’s wanted to share the message that recovery from eating disorders is possible and that no one should have to suffer or recover alone.

Over the last 16 years, The Elisa Project has continued to fight eating disorders and support those affected. The Elisa Project educates around 10,000 school-age students on nutrion, eating disorders and body image annually. Additionally, The Elisa Project supports those affected by eating disorders with our case management service. In 2015, The Elisa Project provided our unique case management services to more than 321 individuals including: advocacy skill training, education, support and guidance for caregivers, treatment referrals and individualized access to care plans.
