North Shore Senior Center

Dedicated to enhancing the independence and well-being of older adults since 1956, North Shore Senior Center is a private, not-for-profit, non-sectarian resource for older adults and their families. We are a multi-faceted senior center offering a vast array of social services, adult day service offering specialized programs for persons with memory loss from Alzheimer's disease and other dementias, and lifelong learning programs to both assist and enrich the lives of older adults. We are one of the first senior centers to be accredited and the first to be reaccredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers, a constituent unit of the National Council on the Aging.

With our staff of over 100 senior service professionals and nearly 700 volunteers contributing over 42,000 hours annually, we proudly serve over 35,000 individuals and their families in 23 communities in Chicago's northern suburbs. Our wide range of services are provided at our headquarters in Northfield, Evanston office, at village halls, hospitals, park districts, senior housing facilities and private homes throughout the communities we serve.
