Research supports the value of human-animal relationships for many people affected by trauma. Studies of equine and canine- assisted programs have found reductions in PTSD symptoms and opportunities to build trust, social connection, greater confidence, emotional regulation and new relational skills.

At Jesse's Place our participants work directly with rescued horses and certified canines through guided, non-riding activities. These experiences provide opportunities to build confidence, practice emotional regulation, grounding, responding to challenges, and building healthier relationships.
