The Research Foundation of SUNY

Incorporated in 1951 by private citizens under New York State law, The Research Foundation of State University of New York (RF) is the largest, most comprehensive, educational research foundation in the country. It is governed by an independent board of directorscomposed of researchers, campus and system administrators, and representatives of business and industry.

The RF supports over $1 billion in research activity annually and works with academic and business leadership to advance essential research and discovery into innovation, invention and public benefit.

Areas of research and associated initiatives encompass a vast range of disciplines, including life sciences and medicine; engineering and nanotechnology; physical sciences and energy; social sciences; computer and information sciences, and training and education programs.
