Brownbody exists to liberate Black artistry through dance, theater, and figure skating.

Brownbody Values

Diasporic identities: We have a historical Black and African diasporic orientation; our grounding principle is the knowledge that Blackness is just fine.

Belonging: We support and affirm the nuances that emerge from collective complexities of Black histories, cultures, and peoples. We are not a monolith.

Collaboration: We value the tribe/village/family/community/the circle; It’s OK to learn and grow via modeling and being with and in concert with others.

Care: We value relationships; care is paramount; we sincerely care for and about ourselves so we can sincerely care for and about others.

Quality over Quantity: We are intentionally working beyond a scarcity model.

Intergenerational engagement: People at all stages of life bring value to Brownbody’s locating and learning.

Evolving: We manifest, modify, align, and integrate organizational behavior to reflect new knowledge and insights.
