The Asian-American Women's Political Initiative (AAWPI) works to ensure that Asian-American women and the Asian-American community have a voice in their government.

As the only program of its kind in the country, AAWPI's State House Fellowship Program provides Asian-American women with an empowering opportunity to combine community activism with state policymaking through a part-time internship at the Massachusetts State House in Boston. The fellowship also includes interactive trainings and issue briefings led by well-known civic leaders and leaders in government. Unique to the program are discussions around Asian-American women identity and issues affecting the Asian-American community and Asian-American women. Trainings and briefings are conducted through an Asian-American community lens, making connections between policymaking and our communities. Featured in Boston Magazine, the fellowship seeks to cultivate and mentor the next generation of leaders and advocates in the Asian-American community.
