SAJIDA’s goal is to improve the ability of poor Bangladeshi women to take charge of their lives and earn productive livelihood through access to credit and knowledge of enterprise development.
OBJECTIVES • To provide effective, flexible and responsive financial services to the urban-semi-urban poor women. • To provide training in different aspects of business such as product development, quality assurance, basics of bookkeeping. • To train SAJIDA members and their families to make them employable by imparting them with basic education and sound vocational training. • To establish child-care and education centers so that parents can be freed from the compulsion of looking after children and can thus go out to earn money. • To provide preventive and curative low cost health services to its members and their families. • To train and create entrepreneurs, members who show potentials and bring them to a level where they become credit worthy to banks and move out of the poverty trap. • To provide professional advice through SAJIDA counselors for family conflict resolution and legal support in case of need.
