ACA has been advocating for 40 years on behalf of US citizens living and working overseas. As the environment for US citizens abroad has evolved, so have the issues. ACA's headquarters are located in Washington, DC. This facilitates ACA's advocacy efforts with the US Congress, Administration, stakeholders and partners.
US citizens face unique issues vis-avis US legislation and regulations while living abroad. These issues are not static and change as new regulations and legislation are passed in law. Not only must US citizens adhere to US legislative laws, they must also adhere to the laws and regulations in the countries where they live and work. ACA monitors the US legislative environment, collects information from our membership and the community, consults with stakeholders and partners, on the issues affecting US citizens abroad.
ACA works to develop practical and implementable proposals to solve the problems and issues that US citizens abroad are facing. ACA uses best practices in its advocacy work and this is what sets ACA apart.
