Creche

Creche is a 501c3 non-profit corporation that partners with local congregations to create and support low-rent intentional communities in response to Boston's affordable housing crisis, the rampant spread of gentrification, and the destabilization of its neighborhoods. 

Our communities are long-term, intergenerational, faith-rooted, and affordable. We provide an alternative to the for-profit rental market in which people live like families, sharing rhythms like meals, home maintenance, and neighborhood service.

Creche is a young, scrappy, organization that operates with a tremendous amount of agility, energy, and grit. Our start-up nature is evident not only in our small staff but also our work culture - before Covid, most of our business was conducted in coffee shops, public spaces, and the intentional communities themselves, and now it is largely remote. If you thrive in situations that provide you lots of autonomy, are comfortable collaborating over tools like Slack and GSuite, and enjoy working directly with the people you’re serving, you’ll fit in well.
