Acerca de

The First Unitarian Society is a progressive community of over 2000 independent thinkers who support the freedom of conscience of each individual as they seek to be a force for good in the world.

Made up of professors, politcos, parents, educators and activists who have a vision of a better world, they are bound by a belief in core principles, but agree that there is no single, superior path. They are people who seek truth and wisdom, but not the ones who claim to own it.

Located in the Frank Lloyd Wright Meeting House -- a National Historic Landmark -- FUS is a community that encourages spiritual growth in an atmosphere of warmth, freedom of belief and open dialogue. We believe in a personal search for the truth, in the company of fellow seekers. We rely on reason, knowledge, experience and conscience, with freedom to examine all religious teachings and traditions.

While we recognize that our path is not always clear or easy, we seek to act as a moral force in the world, believing that ethical living is paramount.

FUS Madison is among the largest societies in the world, with over 1500 formal members and affiliates, a large Foundation, and a budget of $1.9 million.
