In the Natural Resources Stewards Program, part of UNH Cooperative Extension, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of natural resources stewardship by learning about tree identification, planting, and care; forest types and the wildlife that lives within them; permaculture; ecological landscaping; land conservation and protection; wetlands; invasive species; volunteer roles and opportunities in NH communities, and many more topics essential to the well-being of the state’s natural resources.
In exchange for receiving college-level education, participants are asked to complete 40 hours of volunteer service within two years in their own communities or through a partnering agency’s program.
