Acerca de

Launched in 2007 by the City University of New York (CUNY), Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP) is a comprehensive support program designed to help associate degree-seeking students earn their degrees as quickly as possible, with a goal of graduating at least 50% of students within three years. Due to a variety of stresses and responsibilities, too many students are not able to complete their associate degrees in a timely manner, if at all. ASAP helps to eliminate these stresses by providing students with the academic, social, and financial support they need to graduate.

ASAP is currently at nine CUNY colleges: Borough of Manhattan Community College, Bronx Community College, College of Staten Island, Hostos Community College, Kingsborough Community College, LaGuardia Community College, Queensborough Community College, New York City College of Technology and Medgar Evers College. ASAP’s current cross-cohort three-year graduation rate is 52% vs. 23% for comparison group students--and more than three times the national three-year graduation rate of 16% for urban community colleges.

Based on outstanding program success to date, ASAP will expand to 25,000 students within CUNY by academic year 2018-2019. In addition to the City of New York, ASAP is supported by the State of New York, the Robin Hood Foundation, and the Stella and Charles Guttman Foundation.
