A Blanket of Hope, Inc. (dba Brighten a Life)

Brighten a Life is a non-profit organization committed to children, education, environment, and community. Our Green Schoolhouse Series donates high-performance flex use schoolhouses to low income school districts.

The Green Schoolhouse Series is a program that integrates community, education, environment and kids. Through the support of sponsors and volunteers, we erect a fully-sustainable (i.e. green) 3000sf schoolhouse (K-12) that are gifted to a Title 1 public or charter school. The schoolhouses can be used for classroom space during the day, after school programs in the afternoons, and by community/non-profit groups in the evenings.

Our goal is to be the first LEED Platinum Certiified schoolhouse in the state of Arizona.

The first schoolhouses will be built in Phoenix, AZ in 2010, and over the next five years there will be green schoolhouses in the top 10 markets in the US.
