The LLRMH supports more than 24 families each night. We have 21 rooms at the House, an offsite house with a duplex that accommodates 3 additional families, and we often times place up to 12 additional families at local motels each night until rooms become available.
Room requests are sent from the social workers at the hospital. Requests are reviewed based on diagnosis and distance. Each family is considered on a case by case basis based on room availability. The average length of stay for families is eight days.
A fee of $10.00 per night is charged to stay at the LLRMH. However, no family is ever turned away due to inability to pay. Funds to operate the House come from contributions through individual gifts, special events, corporate donations and foundation grants, We rely heavily on the support we receive in our community.
