B.E.A.N. (Becoming Environmentally Aware Nationwide)

B.E.A.N. is the philanthropic subsidiary of Urban Verde, which is based in Syracuse, New York. B.E.A.N. promotes environmental awareness amongst people living in urban centers through environmental and ecological education; we help communities use sustainable, low impact practices in their everyday lives. This includes providing resources to neighborhoods or schools who are interested in starting a community or school garden. B.E.A.N. has sponsored the Kwanzaa Village Garden since February of 2010; the Kwanzaa Village Garden is a community garden located on the Southwest side of Syracuse.
