Collaborative to Build a Healthy Coachella

A partnership of Coachella community based organizations and government agencies is developing a planning process for The California Endowment’s Building Healthy Communities initiative. The planning process’ product will be a 10-year strategic plan to build a healthy Coachella. The California Endowment 10 outcome areas to be addressed in the strategic plan are:

1. All children have health coverage 2. Improved access to a health home that supports healthy behavior 3. Health and family focused human services shift resources toward prevention 4. Communities with health-promoting land use, transportation and community development 5. Safety from violence 6. Support healthy youth development 7. Neighborhood and schools support health and healthy behaviors 8. Community health improvement linked to economic development 9. Health gaps for young men and boys of color narrowed 10.Media/local experiences to help influence policy and systems changes
