The Southeast Center for Cooperative Development is a Tennessee-based 501c3 recognized non-profit organization working to create living-wage jobs through worker-ownership in all its forms. We provide technical assistance, education and collaboration to individuals and groups interested developing worker-owned cooperatives, as well as businesses converting to employee ownership. We provide these services with the ultimate goal of building a network of mutually supportive cooperatives in Tennessee and eventually throughout the Southeast. Our main commitment is to serving members of underserved and/or low-income communities and communities of color.

Our purpose is to create employee-owned cooperative enterprises which can help create a Nashville for all by creating good jobs, building community wealth, and bringing democracy to the workplace. SEC4CD is providing education and technical assistance, micro-finance services to worker cooperatives, and researching matters related to worker cooperatives.
