COVID Child Care is an nonprofit organization that seeks to assist parents who work in essential healthcare jobs by babysitting their children. Our website, https://www.covid-childcare.org/, states that “our mission is to help medical workers manage their households so that they can keep our communities safe.” Our organization provides free child care, grocery shopping, and pharmaceutical pickups along with other duties that families may need. We already have more than 200 volunteers, and are operating in more than 40 cities. This program was founded by local Palm Desert college students who want to support our community. We rely on compassionate volunteers whom we can match with medical workers in order to meet their needs.
