DuPage Habitat for Humanity

DuPage Habitat for Humanity (DHFH) is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, an ecumenical, Christian housing ministry. As the local affiliate, DuPage Habitat serves DuPage County, and partners with the community to help limited-income families achieve the dream of homeownership. Habitat homes are largely constructed by volunteers and are sold to qualifying families at no profit to Habitat and at a zero percent interest rate. DHFH partner families must apply for homeownership and must demonstrate: (1) a need for affordable housing; (2) an income between 45-60% of the area median income and an ability to repay a 0% interest, 30-year mortgage; (3) a willingness to partner with Habitat by investing 250 hours of sweat equity; and (4) employment or residency in DuPage County.
