Immigrant Children's Advocacy Project

Chicago, IL

  • Acerca de

The guiding principle of the Unaccompanied Children’s Advocate Project is that immigrant children who are separated from their parents will benefit from the aid and advocacy of an adult, or “Child Advocate.” The overarching objective of the Child Advocate is to ensure that the child's best interests are identified and represented.

A Child Advocate is an adult who volunteers to spend time with and advocate on behalf of an individual unaccompanied immigrant child as he or she proceeds through the U.S. immigration system.

Although a second language is not required, we have a particular need for bilingual volunteers who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Hindi or Gujarati.
