Museum of Teaching and Learning

MOTAL creates exhibitions and activities about learning—the past, present, and the future of learning--for the general public. Recent exhibitions have shown how education has been made accessible to previously overlooked populations. Since the first traveling exhibition opened in Long Beach in 2007, interest among educators, community leaders, and the public has grown. Designed to raise social awareness of the power and future of education—educating people about education--engaging, interactive, and creative exhibitions travel the country encouraging citizens to action, building respect for the teaching profession, and inspiring change in educators. MOTAL is home to a growing collection of educational artifacts with stories waiting to be shared. These artifacts will be preserved for research and a continuous record of the changing world for future generations.
