NOVA Academies

Pioneer and Nova Academies are joining forces to build a network of high-quality, affordable schools across Africa. As of January 2016 we will have two schools in South Africa and one in Kenya, aiming to grow to 100 schools across the continent over the next decade. We are structured as a for-profit social enterprise to enable us to attract the investment needed to expand quickly and reach tens of thousands of students. Education in Africa has been decades behind the rest of the world -- what if it leapfrogged several decades ahead? Imagine a world in which every young person in Africa attends a school that truly sets them up for success in the 21st century. Imagine that this school demands excellence, equips students with globally competitive science and technology skills, helps them learn by creating and inquiring rather than by memorizing, and builds the character and growth mindset that turn them into lifelong learners and achievers. This is what we imagine—and we want you to help make it happen. We are eagerly looking for rising star educators and instructional leaders to join our team and help us grow. We’re seeking candidates who have performed well in rigorous, high-expectations school settings; who crave constant feedback; who are excited about the prospect of relocating to South Africa or Kenya; and whose joy is infectious when it comes to learning and helping others learn. In both Kenya and South Africa we will have opportunities for people to coach teachers and school leaders, lead curriculum design, and architect PD for instructional staff.
