Northern Virginia Gardening Coalition

Welcome to the Northern Virginia Gardening Coalition, a community based volunteer group devoted to residential gardening and food donations!

The Northern Virginia Gardening Coalition (NVGC) is a capstone project for my Masters of Sustainability Leadership degree from Arizona State University.

Vision: Food is a community driver and building block for healthy neighborhoods and thriving families. The Northern Virginia Gardening Coalition seeks to align Washington D.C. neighborhoods with their surrounding suburban communities in order to provide sustainably cultivated produce in order to alleviate food shortages while also creating self-perpetuating a sustainable food movement.

Mission: The Northern Virginia Gardening Coalition shall cultivate sustainably grown produce from a wide-ranging volunteer network which through partnerships shall be distributed throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
