Etta Projects Bolivia

  • Acerca de

Etta Projects (www.ettaprojects.org) is a nonprofit public health organization with offices in the USA (WA) and Eastern Bolivia. Etta Projects (EP) collaborates with Bolivian communities, creating sustainable solutions to improve health, sanitation and clean water.

Etta Projects was created in 2003 to honor the life and legacy of Etta Turner, a Washington teenager whose young life ended tragically in November 2002 when she was in Bolivia as a Rotary International Exchange student. Since our establishment we have supported thousands of families in Bolivia to improve their health & nutrition, education and employment opportunities.

The philosophy of EP has always been one of sustainable development – the conviction that local people know their needs best and that they also have the power to meet those needs. Projects are designed based on the needs and recommendations of community members, and implemented hand in hand with the community. EP provides the expertise and materials community members request to make their visions a reality.

The core of all projects is training and education to empower participants with the tools to make sustainable changes in their lives. Program areas include: water, sanitation, health, hygiene, nutrition, leadership training and education.

EP believes that healthy communities evolve from empowered leaders with innovative ideas, tools, and strategies to improve existing conditions. To respond to this need, EP created a Community Transformation Center (CTC) in Bolivia to provide training, continuity and increased sustainability for local community leaders, as well as national and international volunteers, NGOs, and students.
