New Vision Renewable Energy

New Vision Renewable Energy (NVRE) exists to empower individuals and strengthen rural communities by creating pathways to stable housing, meaningful employment, mentorship, and long-term self-sufficiency through innovative, community-based workforce and development initiatives.

NVRE is a nonprofit organization based in Philippi, West Virginia, working to strengthen rural communities through workforce development, mentoring, affordable housing, and community-based economic opportunity. NVRE serves individuals and families facing barriers related to poverty, housing instability, substance use recovery, foster care transition, and unemployment by creating pathways to long-term self-sufficiency and purpose-driven employment.

Founded in 2009, NVRE combines practical workforce training with mentorship and supportive community environments to help individuals build stable futures while addressing broader workforce and economic development challenges across Appalachia. The organization partners with local employers, educators, nonprofits, and community leaders to develop innovative, scalable solutions that connect housing, employment, transportation, life skills, and wraparound support services.

One of NVRE’s flagship initiatives is New Vision Village, a tiny-home community and workforce development model designed to support young adults ages 18–25 transitioning out of foster care or experiencing housing instability. Through integrated housing, employment pathways, and mentorship, NVRE is helping young people build independence, financial stability, and long-term community connection.

NVRE’s work is grounded in the belief that strong communities are built by investing in people, creating opportunity, and developing collaborative solutions that meet both individual and regional workforce needs.
